Bodysong

November 20th, 2010

Directed by Simon Pummell and scored by Jonny Greenwood (his first solo release) this film examines human life without any dialogue. This is still one of my favorite films and I feel it is a profound manner in which the human condition is portrayed through only moving images and sound. It’s also always interesting when we try to describe ourselves, to ourselves. It feels tragic no matter how amazing or beautiful it is; although that might be credited to the film itself.  Few clips n things below.

Peter Grudzien – Garden of Love

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

In 1974, while working as a graphic designer, Peter Grudzien quietly and independently wrote, performed, and recorded “The Unicorn”, a 14 song LP featuring an odd marriage of country and psychedelic music. Grudzien attempted to sell copies – of which there were a mere 500 pressings and no label involvement – in local bookstores and out of his briefcase after shows with little success.
